Healing is a process. Creating expression through movement is a process. Discovering deep love is a process. By sharing my humanity, I expand the process of healing, expressing and loving with those that surround me. This work is raw, real, intimate and ever changing as I am constantly evolving, requiring new modalities to reveal and heal. It's a process of being seen, being vulnerable and removing layers of self-imposed truths and pressurized societal norms. This project is an evolution of healing, encompassing the non-binary aspect of healing from the inside out. By sifting through the grittiness of the past, I discover and complete the broken and untouched emotional pathways that were abandoned due to my body's natural fight or flight response to trauma.

Dixon Place's Crossing Boundaries

May 28th 2019, 7:30PM

What are you in between? In life? In love? Within yourself? "the in between" traces the visible and visceral space between two physical bodies, the impact of distance and the result of resistance. Through physicality, the journey becomes about leaning in, embracing the unknown and trusting the space in between.

FAULT LINE

Photography Credit: Ben Viatori

I’m a mover. I’m a doer. I’m a creator. My body is my artistic expression. Movement is my medium. Life is my process. This work encompasses all of who I am as a dancer and performer, while capturing the most vulnerable parts of my chemical composition. This project brings to light my personal struggle with depression, anxiety and self-harm, in hopes of starting the conversation around mental health and suicide prevention. This is an ongoing project in collaboration with photographer Ben Viatori.
